Most performance shops don't fail because the work is bad. They struggle because the owner can't see where the money is going until the month is already over. Full bays and a busy phone don't guarantee a profitable shop, and by the time the P&L shows a problem, it's too late to fix that month.
At this year's PRI Show, My Shop Assist is hosting a free one-hour seminar on the numbers that tell you whether your shop is actually making money, and what to do when it isn't.

Where: Room 212, Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis

What we'll cover
Starting from the number you want. Profitability begins with deciding how much profit you want at the end of the year, then working backward through your expenses, payroll, and capacity to find the hourly rate and gross profit per billable hour your shop actually needs. Not an industry average, your number.
Whether your team can hit it. A target only helps if the people doing the work can reach it. We'll look at how to measure technician productivity against estimates and the time clock, so conversations about performance are based on facts, not feelings.
Whether your services can get you there. Some of the jobs you sell are carrying the shop, and some are quietly losing money every time they roll in. We'll talk about how to check each service against your target rate using real history, and what to do with the ones that don't measure up.
Checking it every week. The goal is a set of numbers you can review weekly, so a bad stretch shows up while you still have time to respond to it.
Who should attend
Shop owners, managers, and anyone responsible for pricing and profitability at tuning, racing, engine building, and fabrication shops. You don't need to be an MSA user to get something out of this session.
See you in Room 212.
