Most shop owners know their work inside and out. Far fewer can tell you, on any given week, whether the shop is on track to make the money it needs to. The jobs are full, the phone is ringing, and the real numbers only show up when the accountant sends them, months after anything could be done about it.
The MSA Shop Management Bootcamp is a full day spent fixing that. And before we take it to Indianapolis for the PRI Show, we're teaching it at home: in our own conference room at MSA headquarters in Lewisville, Texas, with just 6 seats.
Class details
Date: Friday, November 20, 2026
Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (6 hours of class, plus lunch)
Location: MSA Headquarters conference room, 985 E State Highway 121, Suite 104, Lewisville, TX 75057
Lunch: Provided
Seats: 6
Price: $500 per person
Why 6 seats
A small room changes the day. With 6 people at the table, the class runs like a working session instead of a lecture. There's time to dig into your own shop's numbers, ask the questions you'd never ask in front of a crowd, and work in your own MSA and QuickBooks setup with the team that built MSA sitting next to you.
What we'll cover
- How a shop is structured and how work, money and information move from the first call to the final invoice.
- How the shop makes money: the margin on labor, parts and your own products, and where money leaks out.
- What the owner should watch: building your Profitability Guide to find the hourly rate and gross profit per billable hour you actually need, then checking whether your team and your services can get you there.
- Every role in the shop, from parts and technicians to shop management, sales and accounting, defined by the outcomes it has to deliver.
- Pulling it together: one job traced through every seat, so you leave with a clear, measurable plan for your shop.
Who it's for
Owners, managers, service writers, parts people, and anyone running the business side of a performance, engine building, fabrication, restoration or parts manufacturing shop. Bringing more than one person from your shop is a good idea; each attendee needs their own seat. You don't need to be on MSA yet to get value from the day.
What to bring
A laptop, and if you can, logins for your QuickBooks and your My Shop Assist account. You'll get the most out of the day working in your own numbers instead of a demo.
Reserve your seat
Seats are first come, first served, and once 6 are gone, they're gone. See the full class details and reserve your seat.
Can't make it to Texas? We're running the same Bootcamp in Indianapolis on December 9, the day before the PRI Show opens. See the PRI Bootcamp.
